The Palmers and the Middletons   Written by Nuria (8/19/2003 7:24 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, lol how could you!, penned by Kate Samson
Are you new?

It could seem odd to the GR, but I like these couples as they are, mostly in the movie, as SirJohn is a widower. I still haven´t found a line about MrsMiddleton to make me like her a little bit.

In my last read I tried to find some regard of Mr Palmer for Charlotte, and I think I found a bit, but I´ll have to check which chapter was. I like them both, although she´s silly and he´s disagreable, her silliness is endearing to some extent, as she tries to be pleasant, and is lively and an optimist. She "only" has that little disadvantage of not having brain.
I also like MrPalmer. In his aloofness and self importance as MP he´s also very silly and even endearing, as anyone who pays attention sees he´s not so tough. Maybe JA tried to show the disadvantage of marrying a silly woman, but the more I read S&S, the more I think MrPalmer married the right woman, as he´s silly himself and a good person, as Charlotte.
As for Sir John, as someone who tries to cheer up Brandon, he´s a favourite of mine, although he torments Brandon and Elinor.
