GR: Brandon's letter   Written by Emmeline (8/17/2003 2:03 p.m.)
Are you new?

In chapter 13, Colonel Brandon received a letter and had to leave them. Willoughby says to Marianne that he believes the Colonel invented the trick and that the letter was of his own writing; and Marianne replies that she has no doubt of it. It seems to me that it was very wrong of both of them to talk about anyone like that. I was under the impression that Willoughby disliked Colonel Brandon even before this, although I know not for what reason; but I felt that Marianne thought well of the Colonel, at least she has no reason to dislike him.
