GR--Interesting   Written by BarbaraB (8/13/2003 8:54 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR - taste (some essays), penned by LaurieC

] While searching in another area, I ran across "The Dictionary of Sensibility", which devotes a section to taste as well as other topics. I've linked one page below. It's an interesting browse.

The line below, in particular, caught my interest:

"Thus the natures with the highest sensibilities are at once the most moral, the most aesthetically discerning, and the most alive."

I was mulling over this in relation to Marianne. It made me question something about her with relation to Willoughby only we haven't gotten far enough into the novel to bring it up. But thanks. I enjoyed reading this.
