GR A crush   Written by Kathi (8/13/2003 7:07 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR: Likelihood of compatibility b/t CB and Elinor, penned by Jeanne P
Are you new?

] I can't say for CB at this point in the book, but for Elinor, if she did have a crush on Edward, she has the type of personality that would be more loyal to that attachment, no matter how slight it is. In other words, she would be loyal and constant, even toward only a person she had a crush on.

Even if sensible Elinor experienced a crush, I can't imagine her having a "loyal attachment" to it, especially if it were "slight". I would expect her to she would recognize it for what it is and act accordingly.

But perhaps we have a different definition of "crush." I see a crush as a generally short-live emotional attachment, though it may feel intense at the time it is being experienced. I suppose it can either develop into a genuine feeling of love or it can fade away, but it is not the sort of feeling that it is wise to base one's loyalties on.
