Why Marianne? Written by Tuyet N (8/12/2003 7:08 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR--No need to spoil, penned by Barbara

] Already in the story we know that Marianne was thought to be a match for Brandon and he was thought to be suitable husband material for her.

Perhaps I have missed something, but why is it assumed that Marianne would be a match for Brandon and not Elenor? Is it that Elenor is "on the shelf"?
