] Though perhaps this may be explained later in the story, is there any reasonable explanation for Willoughby's statements of disliking Brandon?

And it has nothing to do with the hanging of Willoughby's curricle. To explain it, I'd have to give away the entire plot and speculate at length on everybody's motives and character.

Eagerly looking forward to a debate on this in a few weeks!
