The University Library   Written by Siobhan (8/9/2003 10:35 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, When/how/why did you...?, penned by Barbara
Are you new?

Well my high school english teach (my dad!) is a Huge JA fan. We read P&P in high school and I loved it.

Fast forward a few months to first year Engineering at university. Amidst the calculus, physics and chemistry I needed a break! As I was strolling along the library stacks I found the Jane Austen section. Oh yeah! I remember her. I grabbed S&S and I can still remember lying in my room and giggling as I read it. It really is soooo funny! I thought that right from the first. When I went back to the stacks and discovered all the other novels and the juvenelia I was in heaven!

I still remember renting the old BBC JA adaptations from the video store - it was during exam time and the video clerk asked if I had to watch them for homework! LOL! Not for engineering, no! She seemed shocked that I would want to watch them for my own amusement! ;-)
