I read it   Written by Elizabeth Pl. (8/8/2003 7:28 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, When/how/why did you...?, penned by Barbara
Are you new?

] It seems that many of us are doing a reread, so I was wondering when, how, or why did you first read S&S?

after reading Pride and Prejudice. I expected it to be as good and as light hearted. Unfortunatley it was not.

Here are my first impressions

-Too much suffering and sadness
-half the time I didn't understand what was going on.
-I found Marianne selfish in her dispar, and wanted her to shut up and move on.
-She whined too much for my taste.

alas, I begin to find my morals courpted.

So, it prompts me up to a question: how can one enjoy sense and sensiblity? Please tell me, I would love to know how to learn to love another classic, especially if its written by jane austen.
