Family   Written by Audrey L. (8/7/2003 4:45 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, When/how/why did you...?, penned by Barbara
Are you new?

About the time that S&S2 came out in theaters, my grandmother decided that it was time I read some Austen (since I was very young, I would read anything I could get my hands on). She gave me S&S and Emma, but I didn't read them right away (probably cos I was reading something else;)). Anyways, when the movie came out in theaters, I went to see it with my grandmother, my mom and my sister, and I absolutely loved it. I went home and read both S&S and Emma in the next few weeks. I enjoyed them, but I missed out on a lot of things due to my young age...

This summer I finally picked up P&P, something I've been meaning to do for awhile, and poured through it, loving every page and it completely turned me into a very obsessed Janeite. Soon after I did a reread of S&S and loved it so much more than before, as I understand a lot of the humor and themes better now. I can't wait to reread it for the GR, even though it's only been a few months, it's such a great novel--I just want to be constantly reading it!
