in consequence of the missive, Miss Grey in love, penned by Sonja K.
I think readers are unsympathetic to Sophia because she was Marianne's rival, and also because of what Willoughby most unkindly said about his wife in his very selfish so-called "confession". But we might see things differently if we try to look at it from Sophia's POV. I think Marianne, Eliza and Sophia were all Will's victims, and Mari actually turned out to be the luckiest of them all, to be able to escape him. Eliza ended up with his illegitimate child, and Sophia ended up married to him. |
