Are you new?

It is my understanding that duelists only rarely faced legal consequences, or if they did, then they got off with what amounted to a slap on the wrist. Correct me if I am wrong. Besides, don't you think it likely that Willoughby would have intended to kill Brandon, as well? I think that Brandon would have been well aware of this.
