I think it is great that other countries try to print it with older nuances in the languages -- that is a fine idea, keeping it all in the spirit. I have heard people say that Edward is a little boring -- is that what you mean when you say you do not know what to think of him? Or are you thinking that his sticking to the engagement, to the unhappiness of so many was wrong? Or forming it in the first place? Or something else? I feel the story is really about the two sisters, and the romances secondary. That is why we "see" Edward Ferrars and Col. Brandon less clearly than some of Author Austen's other heroes. But I approve of Edward for Elinor in the end. |
