Are you new?

I was just wondering, even if JA did take a "tour" of the docks, where would this tour have actually gone, and would JA have had access to places generally thought unfit for a lady of her class to be present?

I also always thought Portsmouth to be a very prosperous sort of place, precisely because of the naval docks, in the 18th century, and in the early 19th century there was the development of Portsea.
