] From reading the letters it's clear that JA liked and respected Martha. She was Mary Lloyd's sister, Mary married James Austen (rector of Steventon) and I don't think JA liked Mary very much.

I remember seeing a plaque in the Steventon Church to Mary Lloyd Austen. I hadn't realized there were two (Martha and Mary) and that they eventually married to Austen brothers (Frank and James.) Given that I do remember a bit of the Nokes bio, it didn't seem that Jane liked Mary. Maybe Mary Lloyd is the namesake of Mary Elliot Musgrove? ;)
