swimming   Written by kathy taylor (3/1/2003 10:30 p.m.)
Are you new?

I just finished watching P&P2 "again", and was wondering about the pond scene. Obviously Darcy knows how to swim, but I was wondering if it were just a guy thing? Who would have taught him how to swim? Would Georgiana have also been taught? Did women swim during this time? I remember something about Lydia wanting to go to Brighton to sea bathing, but can't imagine what women would wear for such an outing. Can't recall the subject ever being discussed, but just wondered. Any thoughts?
