M.T. For whom did JA write?   Written by Caroline (2/23/2003 3:26 p.m.)
Are you new?

It wasn't until quite recently that I realised that many of the Juvenilia stories were dedicated to specific people, amnd quite possibly for specific occasions. For example, The Beautiful Cassandra was written for her sister, quite probably in honour of Cass's 17th birthday. There does seem to have been a tradition in the family of producing verse for specific occasions, and Jane did produce poetry for family marriages and the birth of of her sibling's children. Has anyone ever given much thought to the dedication of her works, do you know? Is she the only one who wrote stories?
