in consequence of the missive, Lord L and Lord S, penned by Linden
I have to mind my Ls and Ps. I don't know where I got that Lord S from, it should have been Lord P as in Portsmouth. I had hoped that someone could tell us more about the schools for girls in the late 18th century. I haven't got time to look for it myself. I read something interesting in the 'Memoir' by J.E.Austen-Leigh.
He continues"The sisters may have been more indebted to this cousin than to Mrs Latournelle's teaching for the considerable knowledge of French wich they possessed". Well, Jane had to educate herself. Reading(and writing) and studying people, that was her university. Leif Gn
