I think just the opposite of your comment, Stephanie. I think her eyes filled with tears at her memories, AND at no one even considering asking her to dance. When you are a wallflower, you do your best to be unobserved; it's better if no one notices, and comments, on your wallflower status. If you have something to do that makes it LOOK as if you don't mind not dancing, such as providing the music, it helps. Been there, done that enough to be made uncomfortable by the description!
