"Our cousins, the Dalrymples"

in consequence of the missive, Anne`s opinion on Lady Dalrymple, penned by Karen Marie
I think it is an example of Sir Walter's and Elizabeth's foolishness. I have never read this as Anne looking down on the Irish cousins. I think she is merely embarrassed at her father and sister sucking up so much to those who are, after all, only perfectly ordinary people. Sir and Miss are all gushy and giddy and puffed up over having dull relatives with nothing at all interesting about them except for their rank.
