Persuasion comes in fourth for me Written by Lauren Ashley (2/26/2013 7:47 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Its Perfect!, penned by Anushka

Persuasion ranks behind P&P, Emma and S&S for me, not that I don't enjoy it and love it, but for me Anne is a bit pallid. She is missing the fire and spark of Elizabeth and Emma. I understand she is good, sweet and refined, but that doesn't render her terribly interesting to me.

I love the story, I love Frederick, but I find Anne to be a bit like a softened (far less annoying) Fanny Price. Very moral and upright, but not a lot of fun.
