] Well, it appears that whomever compiled that list thinks Alice is probably Eleanor's maid.

These look like they were taken directly from Chapman's Oxford Illustrated List of Characters, for mine lists Alice as most likely Eleanor's maid, with the same wording... But my Chapman's, under the Marqius of Longtown also includes this notation: "his daughter (?), Alice" So it looks like Dr Cahpman wasn't sure who Alice was either. ;-)
