Bless Mrs Allen for living within an easy distance   Written by Ann2 (4/24/2003 1:18 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Yes, indeed!, penned by Siobhan
Are you new?

] ] ] A very short visit to Mrs. Allan, in which Henry talked at random, without sense or connection...

] ] I love this, for it so clearly shows the state of Henry's mind. He's just proposed to and been accepted by Catherine and they have to interrupt this happy moment with a visit to Mrs. Allen, of all people! And our witty, teasing, smart as a whip, never without an ironic observation Henry is so distracted he is at a loss for words. ...
It is wonderful I agree, but I beg you not to forget that the visit was another stroke of Mr Tilney's ingenuity!
Below from chapter 30
After a couple of minutes' unbroken silence, Henry, turning to Catherine for the first time since her mother's entrance, asked her, with sudden alacrity, if Mr. and Mrs. Allen were now at Fullerton? ....immediately expressed his intention of paying his respects to them, and, with a rising colour, asked her if she would have the goodness to show him the way.
When did we see Henry blushing, eh?? I feel convinced he was not at all opposed to that visit.
