Catherine's mother   Written by Rae (4/20/2003 6:01 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR: Brothers and Sisters: The Morlands, Week4, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

I like Catherine's mother - the way she does not dramatise Catherine's return journey. The parents are a bit shocked at the manner of her return, but choose to interpret her managing it so well (poor shatterbrained creature that she is!)

as the key thing.

Mrs Morland in this section reminds me so much of my mother, especially the bit where she observes Catherine's behaviour and goes off to get an improving book that she thinks might help her!! And then that she lays it aside for another time when it is not needed.
