] - about the missing mother - *Henry* is the person who 'mothered' Eleanor after their mother died.

And think it likely that he did much to comfort and shield Eleanor after her mother's death.

I do wonder about how much he was at home, though. At 17-18 Henry would have been at Oxford studying for the church. Though I am sure he is a great letter writer, despite what he says about women being notable letter-writers. ;-)
