GR: Catherine guesses?   Written by Cheryl (4/15/2003 12:13 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, The quote continues: Catherine guesses!, penned by Elena

] You should continue the quote without stopping for breath. "Catherine blushed and disclaimed, and the gentleman's predictions were verified. There was a something, however, in his words which repaid her for the pain of confusion; and that something (italics mine) occupied her mind so much that she drew back for some time, forgetting to speak or to listen, and almost forgetting where she was."

Are you saying that Catherine guesses here that Henry is falling for her? I think she was very taken aback and very pleased by the obvious warmth and admiration his remarks implied, but I don't know that Catherine has any idea of his falling in love with her...
