A lucky(? well) coincidence   Written by Ann2 (4/13/2003 2:23 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR: a Tilney Bros. plot?, penned by Cherie
Are you new?

...

] I was intrigued by the private chat between Henry and his brother. Shortly after that, Capt. Tilney started paying great attention to Isabella. Now I'm wondering if maybe Henry told Frederick about his fondness for Catherine, and his concern that Catherine's brother was about to make a very bad match with a greedy, grasping woman who doesn't love him. ...

While I am inclined to agree with Tori Marie that it would be too sneaky a thing to be a Henry, I do think it is interesting that this is an instant when something good(James getting rid of Isabella for a wife. Imagine what his marriage would have been like!) follows out of something really bad (The appalling misbehaviour of a girl who is determined to catch as big a fish as she can hook).

I think Henry might have told his brother (Frederick asking "Come on Henry, be a sport! Just who are these gals you are entertaining? What are they like?") that while Miss Morland is as pure as snow(Leave her alone, Fred I warn you!), her friend although engaged to her brother does not seem quite as innocent/wellbehaved/faithful as one would have reason to expect.
