GR: a Tilney Bros. plot?   Written by Cherie (4/13/2003 10:40 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR: IT & FT sitting in a tree..., penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

] So, what is going on between Isabella and Frederick Tilney, eh?

I was intrigued by the private chat between Henry and his brother. Shortly after that, Capt. Tilney started paying great attention to Isabella. Now I'm wondering if maybe Henry told Frederick about his fondness for Catherine, and his concern that Catherine's brother was about to make a very bad match with a greedy, grasping woman who doesn't love him. Is it possible that Frederick is giving Isabella just enough encouragement to persuade her to break her engagement to James (which she'd love to do anyway, now that she's see they would not be RICH), for the benefit of not only James, but also Catherine and the whole Morland family? That would be more than a little bit like a certain Mr. Darcy taking care of the Bennett reputation in the Lydia-Wickham situation.
