Oh dear, it does lose something in the translation, doesn't it? ;-) Before the group read started, a few people mentioned reading the book in different languages - Sonia in Portuguese, and Helka in Finnish. Have I missed anyone else? How do your translations deal with the "D____" line? And Ann, I remember Barbara asking how the Swedish translation dealt with the "nice" conversation. It's a pun on an English word, she wondered how that would go over in Swedish. How was it - care to give a report? ;-) |
