GR: My favs (so far)   Written by B. Michelle (4/9/2003 9:52 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR: LOL Lines, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

Mst of my personal favorites come from ch. 14:

Henry: "The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid.

Catherine: I often think it odd that it [history] should be so dull, for a great deal of it must be invention

"That little boys and girls should be tormented," said Henry, "is what no one at all acquainted with human nature in a civilized state can deny;

Henry: "Miss Morland, I think very highly of the understanding of all the women in the world--especially of those--whoever they may be--with whom I happen to be in company."

But, (as I stated in another thread) this one has to be the ultimate:
Thorpe: "Did you ever hear the old song 'Going to One Wedding Brings on Another?' I say, you will come to Belle's wedding, I hope."

"Yes; I have promised your sister to be with her, if possible."

"And then you know"--twisting himself about and forcing a foolish laugh--"I say, then you know, we may try the truth of this same old song."

"May we? But I never sing.
