] Below is a scan of the relevant page from the subscribers list, which is headed as follows: Her Royal Highnefs the Duchefs of YORK 2 fets, and His Royal Highnefs the Duke of GLOUCESTER.

I love subscription lists! Often they are far more interesting than the volume that they accompany.

Thanks, DeeMac, for that scan, which is an excellent example of why I love them -- where else would you find the young Jane Austen so close to Edmund Burke? (I wonder why he bought five copies).
