] Can you believe this man’s behavior during this week’s chapters? There are only two characters in Jane Austen that really make me angry, and John Thorpe in this week’s chapters is one. (Aunt Norris is the other.)

John Thorpe is a nasty,obnoxious fellow-nowadays,Catherine would have a restraining order against him,IMHO! He and Isabella are so obviously vulgar,however that any real threat is negated-their bark is worse than their bite.

I do think that Catherine should've kicked both of them in the shins when they grabbed her:).
