GR Through my daughter's eyes   Written by Elaine G (4/4/2003 9:07 a.m.)
Are you new?

As I've said here before, I just finished reading NA to my children. What a revelation to see it through my 12-year-old daughter's eyes. She's sweet, kind and doesn't know much about the world yet. And her name is Catherine.

She could spot John Thorpe as a bragger right away; she's met a John Thorpe or two in her short life.

The really amazing part was her reaction to Henry. She was drawn to him as a character, even though she often didn't understand what he meant. While reading Henry's words she would often be astonished at the way he teases Catherine. She's never met anyone like him before. Now I see the reason why CM is attracted to Henry. She's never met anyone like him before. People who tease and talk that way don't exist in Fullerton.
