Anyone can play?   Written by Ann2 (4/3/2003 1:31 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Tidbit I must share, penned by Mary Fran
Are you new?

] ...when Isabella mentions that there are two "odious" young men looking at them. The young men leave, and that's when IT wants to go, but she says that she can't bear the idea of catching up to them. This is great because she makes a big deal about finding these men so offensive, and then resolves to chase them down because one was handsome. All the while Catherine is completely confused. ...What was IT's real motive and object? Just to get them to notice her, or to force an acquaintence do you think?

Is this not part of the big game that many a girl - and boy - has been playing since the stone ages? You are very interested in the opposite sex and half ashamed to admit it openly. but any little incident can be blown out of proportion to amuse yourself and your girlfriends. It is just that Catherine obviously never did this and she doesn't get it. I will admit that at 21 Isabella ought to have grown out of this behaviour. She is such a decided flirt! ;-)
