First, I am sincerely enjoying my first group read. I tried to start NA a few months ago and only got about half way through. It's much more fun to discuss it as I go. :)

I noticed this before, and this time too, it made me laugh. At the very end of Chapter 5, JA totally departs from the story and vents about the bad reputation of novels. This cracks me up. Was it more of her satire, or was had she just had enough? And what did it have to do with anything? I think it's funny, but it's totally off topic! How did that ever get past an editor? :)
