I am really sorry about making you feel bad just cuz I was such a dork what with misunderstanding the reading assignment for the first week!

Secondly - I love this way of looking at Isabella and Elinor! The false friend (even in the first 8 chapters Jane leaves no doubt about Isabella's insincerity) versus the true friend as opposed to the false lover versus the true lover!
So - do you suppose that Jane is setting up that friendship is just as important to our every-girl heroine as romance?
