] ] Actually not quite as wierd as you think. Isabella is showing no signs of playing the rival for Henry. While her eye may be wandering, it's shown no sign of wandering onto him as of yet.

] I don't think at all that Isabella is interestd in Henry, she is just the opposite of Elinor, as most anti-heros are the opposite of the hero.

Merely trying to reinforce your point. However further elaboration would require spoilers beyond chapter 8. Suffice it to say that IT is not setting ITself up as a rival for the affections which is the role that the false female friend of the heroine would take in a cookie-cutter formula.
