Catharine and Henry's Humour   Written by Captain Everett (3/31/2003 9:27 p.m.)
Are you new?

One of the threads (I can't seem to find it now) commented on Henry's interest in Catharine was based upon her reaction to his humour. He does seem to enjoy quizzing others or making "over the top" assertions., largely to watch their reactions. Catharine, however, seems to react in a very different way than what he seems to expect.

She doesn't respond with a blank look (way over her head), she doesn't laugh just to please him, she doesn't avoid him, she doesn't express displeasure at his flip manner, nor does she try to joke back. Instead, she responds with a candid observation of her own, or directly questions his assertions.

Then it came to me:

Henry has found his "straight man".

Sort of a Burns & Allen in reverse.

I remain,
Jason E.
