There are some little bits   Written by Caroline (3/30/2003 9:26 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR - Wondering about scenery, penned by CarolTS
Are you new?

] Did Jane put a lot of description in her Juvenilia as part of the parodies she was doing or did she never do that part?

She's never really big on description. In one Juvenila piece, she makes a real big deal about living "in the Vale of Usk", but it's really only so that you can say the phrase out loud several times. There's another bit where she has a Lord stop the carriage "so that his servant can admire the view", or words to that effect, but since she's basically lampooning him throughout, I don't think we are supposed to take that seriously, either.

No, to be honest, I think JA got a bit fed up with Radcliffe's long scenic descriptions... which are all the same...and which bear no real relation to any Geography known in the parts, and knew that they were not worth copying.
