GR: Gold-digger   Written by Cheryl (3/30/2003 4:40 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR: Question about Mr. Thorpe's "means", penned by Rebecca Nix
Are you new?

] I'm led to believe that his sister is a gold-digger (thus, her fascination with plain-ol' Mr. Morland), and if the family has enough money for Mr. Thorpe to live as a complete waistrel, then it makes no sense for her to be so.

What exactly makes you think that Isabella is a gold-digger? I'm not saying you're wrong, just trying to find out what clues you are picking up on in these eight chapters.

One of the fun things about an in-depth read like we're doing, is dealing only with what is before you and finding those clues to things that will happen later.

I'm seeing all kinds of interesting things about Isabella so far (and I think I'll start a new thread about that) but I'm not seeing avarice, not yet anyway. But am willing to be persuaded otherwise, if you do. ;-)
