GR: Yes!   Written by Cheryl (3/30/2003 3:12 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, GR - publication question, penned by LaurieC
Are you new?

] What I'm curious about, when the NA manuscript was repurchased in 1816, was P&P a best-seller and its author celebrated? I hope so, but would feel better knowing Crosby regretted his earlier actions. ;-)

S&S was published in 1811, P&P in 1813, MP in 1814, Emma in 1815. So yes, Jane's writing was very well known and admired - Crosby must have been kicking himself when he found what it was he refused to publish. Isn't it a delicious vision? ;-)
