] Isn't it fab? Someone once said that John Thorpe would be a used car salesman today. I can see that.

John is at Oxford ~ what professions could he be studying for? My first thought was a clergyman ~ can you imagine sitting through one of his services?? (five hours later, the congregation stumbles out of the church, having lost their will to live...) Another thought is a lawyer, but I can see the judges refusing to hear any of his cases (besides, the poor court recorder couldn't keep up!). ;-)

But really, what do you suppose he was studying to be?
