Being a male Janeite, I naturally look at Miss Austen's ladies and enjoy comparing my favorites.
I consider it unintentional the way Jane describes Catherine and the way she interacts with those around her but I find her young, fresh, naive innocence as very attractive and might I add (gasp) somewhat sexy?
Starting with her being a young tomboy to her becoming aware of her maturing feminity and her refreshing honest dialogues with Henry, no wonder the poor man is smitten!
Does anyone else detect a little of this sexual undercurrent in Catherine, something she probably is totally unaware of?
