in consequence of the missive, Mrs. Grant, penned by Stephanie
I've wondered what the relationship between the Grants, and Mary would be with Henry. It's rather ironic that Mary, with her views on clergymen, should end up as a permanent member of a clergyman's household, and continued to live with his widow. JA did not say anything about their relationship with Henry. Because Henry was a man, he was not such a social outcast after the scandal as Maria was, but it would have been awkward for his sisters to have him with them while Dr Grant lived. I also wonder if Mary herself might have some personal resentment against Henry -- the narrator says it was difficult for Mary to get Edmund out of her head, so she might blame Henry's scandal with Maria for making her lose Edmund.
