I'm not sure why calling it "education" instead of "punishment" changes the fact that Fanny is a strong enough person that she stood her ground and refused to marry Henry regardless of what her uncle said or did. Perhaps you can explain that to me.
As for comparisons with Jane Eyre, both aunts were expected to protect these young girls, but neither one did their job. They're both evil, twisted women.
