in consequence of the missive, Fanny's development, penned by Ramya
What I find to be the most significant development in Fanny is her finally learning to trust herself and her own judgement, instead of always having to turn to Edmund, always having to assume that he must be right and she must be wrong. It's not learning to think for herself--since she clearly already knows how to think and does it quite well--but believing that she can, in fact, think for herself and developing confidence enough that she doesn't have to always rely on someone else, always doubt herself.
