Not every hero can (or should) be Mr. Darcy. Written by Adrian (1/27/2013 1:04 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Dissatisfied w/ Edmund, penned by Diana I-C

Nor is Fanny Lizzy Bennet. I very much love Fanny and find Edmund a terrific match for her (especially since she wants him to be). I see Edmund as the "Goldilocks" choice for Fanny: neither too rich nor too poor, neither too ambitious or too indolent, and neither too extroverted nor too shy. Edmund has both strengths and flaws, but then so does Fanny. To me that makes MP a little less Cinderella-like than P&P (not that I do not love P&P very much).

Edmund and Fanny share many things, quiet pursuits like reading, poetry, star-gazing, and most of all mutual respect and a shared sense of principle.
