Was it the author? Written by Elena (5/11/2005 4:16 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, The reappearance (ch. 19-20), penned by LaurieC

Was it Goldsmith speaking (more or less) about his own London talks? These "adventures" doesn't have a true place in the novel proper, IMHO, and anyway could be exchanged for something more spectacular. But a writer (and philosophical reader) can derive pleasure from this piece of non-action.
