...it would seem that TVoW is a bit autobiographical. I see qualities in the Vicar as well as Mr. Burchell in the bio of Goldsmith.

There was no mention of a wife or children in the bio. Goldsmith may have been a good time, but he wasn't what we would classify as a good catch for a husband.
