Are you new?

Gorgeous dress, but possily an awkward style - you would have to step through the doorway sideways! This was definitely the style at the time, and I doubt the width of the dress would have been modified much for daily wear. From what I've read in costume books and seen in museums, the width of one's dress corresponded with one's weath - thus, the higher one's social status the wider the dress!
