occurs in Chapter 36. Robert is going on and on about the beauty of life in a cottage, and concludes by showing that he is the only person in the world who could figure how how to entertain in a cottage -- a dance for 18 couples, no less.

The moment is capped by this wonderful line: Elinor agreed to it all, for she did not think he deserved the compliment of rational opposition.
